6-8 hours power cuts in IT city bangalore..?
bjp is doing good work they say...bjp is worth voting they say..bjp will make bangalore singapore they say..
they would use a mike to say it...but there is no power in bangalore...
the call me blind..are all these people blind too?
They got their power, and we lost ours. Bangalore, with a fresh council just settling in, reeled under massive six-hour cuts across Wednesday. In several areas, there was a 3-4 hour power cut and in others, it lasted nearly six hours, leaving residents annoyed.
Arun Lobo, a resident of KR Layout in JP Nagar 6th Phase was angry about the intermittent power supply plaguing their area for several days in a row now. "There is no scheduled power cut and power comes and goes all the time, disrupting our routine. We are having a minimum four-hour cut which sometimes goes on to six hours. The worrying part is that whenever we call up the authorities, they dont even bother to pick up the call and when they do, they speak very rudely, telling us that they cant help, he says.
"It is the lower and middle classes which voted the BJP to power, but they are the ones who cant afford UPS and other devices for their children to study during exams. The least the government could do is provide them uninterrupted power during the evenings so their children can study, says N Mukund from Jayanagar 5th Block.

this is a govt notification..eight hours power cut in east bangalore...no kidding..8 hours

cm yeddy gives us many excuses...everyday we see "appeals" in newspapers...bescom is in denial mode...one time it is maintenance another time it is "demand and supply"..later it is the past govts....i am not interested in excuses..i am interested in getting electricity to my home so my sister can study for her entrance in peace...is that too much to ask?
the energy ministry is head by state bjp president eshwarappa...i demand that he be sacked...this is too much...before we used to have abundance of power...we used to sell power to other states...now we are buying power
i know i know..you dont have power in delhi..you dont have power in mumbai....but this is the first time we dont have power in bangalore...we always had to bear with only one or max two power cuts of 30 minutes in a day..and that was borne....but this is just ridiculous....8 hours power cuts?..what is this some tribal area?
is bjp govt a failure in "empowering" bangalore?
and before you ask how i am able to access internet...i am in my office..and government offices have plenty of power..not private offices..just govt ones.its just the homes and shanties that are powerless
i understand that you have problems in tn...but you see...this is a new thing in karnataka...our state has never seen this kind of power crisis..all of the previous governments have been able to see that our power needs are satisfied
ill come to gujarat another time and burst your happy bubbles...i am talking about karnataka here...not gujarat..please..nobody buys crap like swanirm gujarat...its government propoganda nothing else...i dont give you government sites as source do i?..
you think people of karnataka voted bjp?..the voter turn out itself was 40%...even then studies show that a cng-jds combine could have easily got 120 seats and won the election...bjp didnt win congress lost..
but this isnt about the elections either..this is about governance...tell me how is the bjp worth voting for if it cant provide 1 city with power for atleast 10 hours a day...how is it worth voting for if it hasnt been able to do this when the previous governments were?
make that 18 hours..typo...but who knows..tomorrow this crisis may become worse and wed probably be talking about 10 hours
if we had congress we would never have to beg gujarat for power...ha..when we had congress here we sold all other states power..because we had so much of it
ms..44% would have been a good indicator..if it had been a random 44%..if all sections of people had been represented proportionally in that 44%...but this was a selected 44%..a 44% excluding minorities, certain castes and certain classes of people...thats why its not a good indicator
and study of the results show that if jds and congress had reached an understanding the combine would have got 120 seats beating the bjp ..handsomely..but this isnt about that..this is about power situation...in 60 years of congress rule our city has never seen such dark days as it is seeing now,two years after bjp rule
heard of a thing called multitasking?..besides..i do only spend 5-10 minutes at a time on y!a..and i cant knit
Answer: ap, I just want to say one thing, whether it is 44% voting turnout, 30%, or 90%, win is win and defeat is defeat, the fact is Bangalore gave mandate to BJP. And don't see any reason for not accepting it. Why is that 44% not sample of 100% people? I see that as perfectly all right. In electoral politics that is perfectly all right, whoever got more votes is elected.
But I am surprised, Bangalore has such acute power shortage? This is worst than Madhya Pradesh. In MP we have an announced power cut of 2 hours in the morning, in Indore and then sometime we have an additional 1-2 hours but not on regular basis. And MP has major power problems as all the power plants went to Chhattisgarh after division of state. I know Karnataka is purchasing power from Gujarat, as it always had power shortage, most of the private IT companies have its own generator sets. May be something is drastically wrong at this time?
I also do not understand, why did Gujarat come into picture for this question :) For Gujarat I would talk about water shortage, education shortage and many different shortages not power. But that is irrelevant to this question.
@ap, why is your profile so private? Not allowed to add as contact, not allowed to email? Just curiosity...
@ap, whatever it may be, a win is win, an no one must attempt to take away credit.
@shy, when question about Gujarat is raised, an appropriate answer will be given, not on this question. I do not want to divert from subject as mentioned.
As far as supply of power to Karnataka, that is pure business, Gujarat supplies power to Karnataka and gets money for that, and that is not something new that started from 2001. So have peace.
