surveys do you have one of these 9 types of roomies?
9. The Deadbeat. The first of every month this guy is like a broken record, "Hey man...yeah, so, like, my company...they, like, forgot to pay me. So I dont, like, have any money for, ya know, rent." And he says the same thing when the electric bill, cable bill, or any other bill needs paying. But somehow his total lack of cash doesnt stop him from going out four nights a week, while youre stuck eating Ramen noodles and dryer lint just to make ends meet. And whenever you try to explain to him that you cant always pay for his share, he gets offended, takes a communist stance, and says that if you were in the same position, he would totally help you out. But, unfortunately, Arbys doesnt plan to double his $13,000 salary anytime soon.
8. The Food Stealer. We’ve all taken food that didn’t belong to us at some point, but the Food Stealer is on an entirely different level. It’s as if they spent years in an early twentieth century orphanage, learning grifting and sleight of hand techniques. If you ever happen to leave any of your food in a common area like “the fridge,” they’ll immediately eat all of it, and then when you ask them about it, they’ll act like a drug dealer being questioned by the cops about a murder.
YOU: So, did you see the Cheez-its that were in the cabinet?
THEM: Cheez-its?
YOU: Yeah, cheez-its, cheesy snacks, look kind of like wheat thins. You know what they are.
THEM: OH. Cheez-its. Nah, don’t know what happened to them.
YOU: But they were here earlier, and now they’re gone.
THEM: That’s unfortunate. Maybe they’re just missin’. (stare down between you and them)
YOU: Gah! I know you did it you son of a bitch!
7. The Party Guy. Every night this guy comes home at five in the morning, with a group of people that all look like the fourth picture in a twelve picture “Faces Of Meth” montage. If the sound of the music blasting doesn’t wake you up, the drunk woman stumbling in to your room and attempting to f*&k her boyfriend on the bed you’re sleeping on does. Inevitably you have to walk out into the living room, and turn down the music, and everyone looks at you like they’re a group of graduate students and you just told them you “don’t really care for Arrested Development.” You tell your roommate you have to be up in two hours, and they’re like “Oh, no way, okay, totally sorry. We’ll turn this down.” Then you head back to your room, and you clearly hear through the wall, your roommate saying “just wait like two minutes and then we’ll pump that shit up again.”
6. The Borrower. They borrow everything from you, and either lose it or use it for something it wasn’t supposed to be used for, leaving you saying things like “It’s cool you borrowed my copy of Shawshank Redemption, but I’d rather you didn’t use it to hold up your dresser. It’s not really a load bearing DVD.” You don’t want to look like an asshole, but before you know it, you’re gingerly asking them to BORROW BACK the things you lent them. “Hey man, I was wondering if I could grab that toothpaste back from you, just cause I ran out of mine. As soon as I buy new toothpaste, I’ll bring it right back.” “Hmmm, I kind of need it tonight and there’s not much left.” “Okay, cool, no worries.”
5. The Gamer. Everyone likes to kick back and blow off some steam and playing video games. But nothing is more annoying than sharing an apartments only television with someone whos surgically attached to his Xbox and/or PS3. Because the only thing lamer than always playing video games, is having to watch someone always play video games. The problem is, hardcore gamers dont sleep, or seem to have regular jobs. Which means youre getting woken up by him screaming into a headset at a seven-year-old in Poland about how his Warlock totally annihilated by his cleric. Or when you get home from work and you just want to watch some mindless TV, but hes playing Madden by himself so he can "practice running up the middle. Or when you just want to watch the Super Bowl and he "Needs to get to this one last level of Call of Duty so I can save it. Can you listen to the first half on the radio? Im sure its online somewhere."
4. Couch Potato. Remember how you used to like sitting on your couch? Remember how it used to not smell like rotten guacamole? Remember when it wasn’t covered in what looks like various dried bodily fluids and sweat stains? Well those days are over, now that you’re living with a Couch Potato. The Couch Potato roommate is usually a combo roommate, meaning that the Couch Potato will most likely also be The Gamer, The Dead Beat, or (worst of all) The Guy Who’s Girlfriend is Always Over. Either way, this couch is his new home, and there’s no moving him once he’s established it as his territory. Your best plan of action now is to position a garbage can nearby, get a fresh bottle of Febreeze, and learn to like Law & Order (all of them), becau
is like Couch Potato heroin.
3. The Guy Whose Girlfriend Is Always Over. When youre roommate is in a relationship, its like youre in a relationship, too; except you only get the shit parts of having a girlfriend. Youre always hanging out with her, shes eating your food and shes taking up your spot on the couch, but you dont get to have sex with her. And somehow, you end up watching Greys Anatomy because she wants to because youre roommate wants to watch it because he wants to keep having sex with her.
2. The Slob. After the slob is done cooking, your kitchen looks like someone raped a barbecue chicken sandwich. Every time you walk past their bathroom, it smells like a baby shit on top of a copy of the New York times, then died. Every time you ask them to clean up, they respond with picking up something and moving it somewhere else, then look at you to see what your response will be like they’re playing chess for the first time and want to make sure they moved the kn
the knight correctly. The apartment gets messier and messier, until the only way the apartment could get any dirtier, is if it f*&ked strangers for money. That’s when you realize you’ve lost the battle, and start laughing when your roommate blows his nose on a pair of basketball shorts he found stuffed inside your silverware drawer.
1. Mr. Anal Retentive. Maybe this person was raised in a strict household. Maybe at some point they were thrown into the back of a garbage truck, and they’ve been freaked out by messiness ever since. Freud would say that at some point in their childhood they had to hold in a huge dump, and that magically turned into obsessive-compulsive disorder. Whatever the reasoning, there are some people who are anal retentive neat-freaks, and this can translate into a roommate nightmare. To compound the issue, most anal-retentive people are passive aggressive, so they won’t express frustration and resentment over having to wash your two dirty dishes in the sink
Your best plan of action now is to position a garbage can nearby, get a fresh bottle of Febreeze, and learn to like Law & Order (all of them), because he who controls the couch controls the television, and that SVU sh*t is like Couch Potato heroin.

Is an apology enough from Mr Brown....?
And I quote.....
The Daily Telegraph has revealed expenses claims for a number of members of the Shadow Cabinet.
It claims Conservatives Michael Gove and Andrew Lansley "flipped" properties designated as their second homes in order to claim expenses on new properties.
The paper alleges Cheryl Gillan claimed for dog food on her expenses - money which she has said she will repay.
Shadow universities secretary David Willetts reportedly claimed more than £100 for workmen to replace 25 light bulbs at his home.
Oliver Letwin, chairman of the Conservatives policy team, apparently received more than £2,000 to replace a leaking pipe under a tennis court.
The Telegraph says shadow leader of the House Alan Duncan claimed thousands of pounds for his garden, although he stopped when he agreed with the fees office the expenditure "could be considered excessive".
In a three-year period, Mr Duncan recouped more than £4,000, though in March 2007, a bill for £3,194 was not paid after it was suggested it might not be "within the spirit" of the rules, the newspaper said.
In a letter to Mr Duncan, the fees office said that it expected gardening costs "to cover only basic essentials such as grass cutting".
Mr Duncan, who is responsible for overseeing Tory policy on expenses, apparently submitted receipts indicating his gardener was being paid £6 an hour for up to 16 hours a week, even though the grounds were less than an acre.
In March 2007, he claimed £598 to overhaul a ride-on lawn-mower and then a further £41 to fix a puncture a month later.

So how many politicians does it take to change a light bulb? Apparently none!!
Your views please.
Many different umbrellas guys, same old rain cloud!
Answer: I am outraged at the expense issue. I was bought up by my parents (particularly my father who was a Labour counsellor) to use my vote - always and I always have done. However, I won't be voting any more. As I have got older I can see how they are all on the make - they are not interested in making a difference to this country and certainly do not represent the hardworking members of society.
It is true to say that the current expense system was in existence when Labour came in however, they didn't do anything to change it did they?. Worse still, when change was attempted, they all voted to keep the system as it was so they could continue to rip us all off.
It's rather interesting, there is high profile case of a mother who is being taken to court by her local Council for claiming that she lived in a different property to get her child into a good local State school - she was living outside of the catchment area. So, she is now facing the strong arm of the law. Shouldn't these MPs face the same fate for essentially committing the same crime - but for financial gain.

Im almost sure the neighbor i have been seeing a few months has been steeling my money. What should i do?
A few months ago I noticed a 100 dollars go missing from my wallet. I had left it in a cabinet at work and just assumed a coworker took it. The next day though I find out that my neighbor has $100 that he said he so happened to find in his "safety vault" that he forgot about. His friends said he wasnt the type so I wasnt so worried. However, I decided to start leaving my wallet at home so that i wouldnt risk theft again. Its been a couple months now and I spend time with this guy everyday. Last weekend I was at a friends house and a lot of people were there and I left my wallet sitting on the coffee table. When I left, I unzipped my wallet just to make sure my $50 dollars was still in it. It was. That night I spent the night w/ my neighbor and he awoke at 6am because he couldnt sleep. He continued doing stuff that morning while I slept, my wallet was in my room across the hall from him in the apartment complex that we live in and my door was unlocked. The next day all of my money was gone. A couple days later we went in on food together but I told him I only had a $20 bill and that Id have to pay him back later. He said that was fine but the next day my $20 bill was gone. I went out with him a few nights later and we decided to go in on a case of beer, he didnt have any money so he told me hed pay me ten when he cashed his last paycheck. We got back to his place and i left my wallet in his kitchen - Im almost positive of this. I started to fall asleep on his couch and he told me to go to sleep so I wouldnt be uncomfortable and I sleepily stumbled across the hall to my room with out grabbing anything. I worked a double that day and I asked him if he could give me a ride to work in the morning. About an hour after I got to work I realized that I was pretty sure I had left my wallet at his place and started to panic a little because I was getting suspicious. I got home at night and immediately knocked on his door to see if my wallet was in there. He said he hadnt seen it and cheerfully got up to help me find it. Of course there was no luck and I couldnt find it anywhere in my apartment either. I called one of his former roommates who is a mutual friend of ours and he told me that he had never taken money from him but that he had seen things go missing and that he refused to pay certain bills. I know that the details seem pretty incriminating but after spending so much time with him everyday for four months I believed that I could trust him and I dont want to confront him if hes not the thief because I dont want to ruin our friendship. I really need some advice here, what should I do???

Landlord wrong doing! Take to court or not?
We moved in March 1st, 2010. Six Month lease signed. We need to pay 2/3rd of electric and oil bill.
We have always paid rent on time, actually 1 to 2 weeks early upon our landlords request. Electric was alway on time also. Landlord has never shown us the Electric bill, we just trusted him about it.
First week of March move in - septic system backup inside house. Landlord had no money to get it drained and told us to take it off the rent. Upstairs bathroom shower pipe was clogged, rusted shut. My dad came in to fix, and landlord paid him $50 plus paid for parts to fix. But we couldnt take a shower for 4 days.
Mid to end March - Upstairs bathtub wouldnt drain, clogged completly. Landlord left it like that for 3 days, again couldnt take shower. Plumber came, tried to snake pipe, pipe broke while snaking drain and water damaged the one kitchen cabinet, and counter top. plumber ended up staying 2 days through this and replaced pipe in the end.
June- Septic was getting full again, needed draining. Septic guy said it was a sespool. Not even a septic tank. He even wrote that on the reciept. Landlord had no money to pay and told us to take it out of rent.
August - Came home electric was shut off and termination notice was on the door. Landlord was overdue $314. Called landlord and he said "well I cant do nothing now Im doing my sisters floors". My husband B****ed at him and told him, We have a baby, food is in the fridge, and no airconditioning in a very hot house. Landlord finally paid 1 hour later. 3 hours later electric was turned back on.
We have been trying to get reciepts for July and August rent plus july, august electric reciepts. Landlord keeps making excuses.
Our lease is up Sept 1st 2010. We are moving. We know the security is going to be a problem with him but according to the lease he has 30 days to return our security. We are going to leave this house in BETTER condition than he left it to us.
Should I just take this to court?
What is your advice?
Answer: study your contract well... make sure you have copies of EVERYTHING you did for him and the money you have paid to him. Video the place before you leave and don't tell him you did so, make sure you get every nook and cranny. IF he does try to pull shit at the end of it all... sue his ass!

What will it take to wake people up?
Trillion dollar spending plans, multibillion dollar bailouts, and now...here it comes. Higher taxes.
Oh yeah, Ive heard the Obama hype about all the "tax cuts" that the middle class folks are gonna get. But thats all it is...hype!
"WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is sending his Treasury secretary and budget director to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to defend his proposed tax increases, which are being met with misgivings by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress.
Lawmakers in both parties question Obamas call to reduce high-income earners tax deductions for the interest on their house payments and for charitable contributions. Also drawing fire is his proposal to start taxing industries on their greenhouse gas pollution — a move sure to raise consumers electric rates."
Now for those who forget the many things made from oil - and oil refineries will fall under this new tax increase proposal - let us take a minute and review. These products are made from oil. So...not only will we pay higer taxes for fuel, both gas for our cars and heating oil, but when we go shopping, we will also pay higer prices for the following products, because those increased taxes to the manufacturers will be passed along to us...

Obamas Budget Director , Peter Orszag, had this to say:
"Orszag has acknowledged that the energy proposal would increase costs for consumers, but he argues that the vast majority of consumers will get tax breaks elsewhere in Obamas budget package."
Really! I wonder...just how many tax breaks for us working stiffs does this spendulous bill have?
How f@cked up does this whole thing have to get, before people wake up to how badly we are going to get screwed?

Answer: First of all, it would be nice if you cleaned your mouth up a bit here. Second, you stated, "Oh yeah, I've heard the Obama hype about all the "tax cuts" that the middle class folks are gonna get. But that's all it is...hype!" How do you know it's all hype when it isn't ready yet to happen? Ever heard of and practiced wait and see what happens? You are putting the horse before the buggy.

novel intro critique please?
James McKee is torn from a night mare. He is sitting up in his bed, hands buried in his hands sweat beading on his neck. That’s the third nightmare this week, he thought as he got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. He stood in front of the mirror, gazing sleepily at his reflection. His black hair was a mess and he had dark circles under his eyes. His handsome face starting to show lines of aging. I look like a zombie. He cupped his hands and splashed cold water into his face. The icy water made chill bumps rise on his arms and legs.
He felt much more awake after he took a cold shower. Julia must have already left for work, he thought as he walked into the empty kitchen. He got a cup out of the cabinet and walked over to the coffee pot and he saw that it had a sticky note on it. “Hope the job hunt goes well.” It was from Julia.
He had been fired from his job teaching English at the local high school because he never made the kids do anything. He would just sit at his desk and read and the class would erupt into chaos. The principal had warned him several times but he never listened.
He has told Julia everyday for the past four months that he has been going job hunting, but that was only true for the first three days. After that he decided that it would be a better use of his time to go to the bar. He would spend all day at the bar and come home and tell Julia that nobody would hire him.
As a result of him not working, the bills are not getting paid, food in the house is getting scarce and they fight nearly every day now. James has been afraid since he got fired, that she would leave his lazy ass and find a husband who would work. But so far his fears remained just that, fears.
When he finished his coffee and had a breakfast of toast covered in peanut butter, he walked out the front door in the direction of the bar. Curt and Randy always met him and they played pool, darts or poker. He always had a guilty feeling that his wife was doing all the supporting for the two of them. But he always chased this feeling away with beer.
When he reached the front steps of the bar, he pushed the door open. Smoke filled the air inside, and a man in a suit was playing a piano over by the bar, the melody was soothing to James. He looked around for Curt and Randy and then saw Curt’s big baled head by the window talking to Randy. He made his way over to the table.
“How’s the job hunt going?” Curt asked jokingly when I had sit down. “Come on, Curt. Leave him alone.” Randy said, lifting a bottle to his lips, a few drops of beer lingered in his mustache. “I decided starting tomorrow I’m going to hunt for another teaching job.” James said. Both men looked as though they knew this was a lie. “You ain’t ever gonna work. You’re gonna grow old in this bar.” Curt said laughing a little. “Where you wanting to work at? The middle school? I hear you don’t gotta make the kids do nothing over there. Randy said, hoping James didn’t notice the pun. James had never before realized how much they disrespected him before now. He had been making Julia work her ass off to pay the bills so he could go to the bar and be made fun of. “You know what guys? I’m gonna go.” They looked startled. “We were just kidding with ya.” Curt said apologetically. But James ignored their further protests and he lest before the waiter could take his order.

Why do husbands & men take REALLY GOOD WOMEN and WIVES for granted? Its like common sense to me:?
if I had a husband that did what I did for him...I WOULD BE JOHN POPE to him. But it seems like I did it all and he did everything he could to push me away. Then I talked to different men and I hear ALL THE TIME, divorce him and marry me, I will show you a "real" man. So why didnt my husband see what he had. I did it all, cooked, cleaned, pampered his ego, never quesitioned his whearabout, prayed, picked up his slack of the bills, found him his job, and redid his resume to get a promotion, NEVER brought up what I did for him in his face. let him win the aruguments to keep the peace; If I moved his car out the drive way and saw it on E..filled up the tank. Oral daily....kept the cabinets stocked; cooked "healthy" food, worked out, kept my looks us, I mean the list goes on and on, but yet...he never appreciated it. Even now, we are separated and dont press the issue about him seeing his kids or giving me money. Although I did file for my support papers and divorce this week. But up until this point, for the life of me, I dont understand why he didnt see my worth. Im sure soooo many other wives and women are dealing with the situation. I hear, "you are weak and let him walk all over you" or "you just were a dayum good woman and he took you for granted" Should I change when I meet the next guy or stay the same? It was natural for me to do, it was from the heart. So dunno just wanted to hear you all opinions
Answer: Don't change! I'm sure my husband would appreciate a wife like you! :-))) I hope the next guy will be a lot more wiser.

Republicans and taxpayer watchdogs are railing against the thousands of earmarks included in the omnibus spending bill that passed the House Thursday and is awaiting a vote in the Senate.
Republicans and tax watchdog groups are railing against the thousands of earmarks included in the omnibus spending bill that the House passed Thursday and is awaiting a vote in the Senate.
The $1.1 trillion bill includes $447 billion in operating budgets for 10 Cabinet departments. Mixed in are more than 5,000 earmarks totaling $3.9 billion, according to watchdog Taxpayers for Common Sense.
Pork-watchers are only just beginning to sort through the earmarks, which typically are goodies set aside for the districts of members of Congress, as the bill tracks toward a final vote. So far, theyve uncovered gems ranging from $700,000 for a shrimp fishing project in Maryland to $30,000 for the Woodstock Film Festival Youth Initiative to $200,000 for a visitors center in a Texas town with a population of about 8,000.
"Lets stop the madness," House Republican Leader John Boehner said, before the bill passed without any GOP support. Twenty-eight House Democrats also opposed it.
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., wrote to President Obama urging him to veto the bill, and pledging that Republicans would stand by him if he did.
Obama in March waved off controversy over a $410 billion spending bill that also was riddled with earmarks, arguing that it represented "last years business." This time around, Boehner said, the president needs to crack down on the pork under his watch.
Republicans, though, have hardly shied away from the earmarks. Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., is pushing $200,000 for the Washington National Opera. Sen. Judd Gregg, a fiscal hawk, is behind a $1 million earmark for renovation at the Portsmouth Music Hall.
Taxpayers for Common Sense reports a total of 5,224 earmarks in the 2010 spending bill, which also includes funding for Medicare and Medicaid. Groups like Citizens Against Government Waste, as well as Sen. John McCains staff, have drawn attention to dozens of items they consider questionable. Heres just a sampling:
-- $150,000 for educational programs and exhibitions at the National Building Museum.
-- $400,000 for renovation of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
-- $150,000 for exhibits at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site Foundation in Buffalo, N.Y.
-- $500,000 for Mississippi River exhibits at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa.
-- $200,000 for the Washington National Opera.
-- $30,000 for the Woodstock Film Festival Youth Initiative.
-- $2.7 million for the University of Nebraska Medical Center, to support surgical operations in space.
-- $200,000 for a visitors center in Bastrop, Texas.
-- $700,000 for a project called, "Shrimp Industry Fishing Effort Research Continuation," at the National Marine Fisheries Service in Silver Spring, Md.
-- $292,200 for the elimination of blight in Scranton, Pa.
-- $750,000 for exhibits at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates in Iowa.
-- $1.6 million for a tram between the Marshall Flight Center and Huntsville Botanical Garden in Alabama.
-- $655,000 for equipment at the Institute for Irritable Bowel Syndrome Research in Los Angeles.
Republicans have been on a tear over earmarks and excessive spending over the past week, particularly as Congress prepares to take up a new jobs-creation package and raise the debt ceiling by nearly $2 trillion.
Rep. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., and Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., on Thursday named what they called the 11 most wasteful spending projects considered by Congress so far this year.
On Wednesday, four Republican lawmakers demanded an audit of the $787 billion stimulus program following reports of exaggerated or inaccurate accounts of the number of jobs created.
McCain, R-Ariz., and Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., on Tuesday released a report on 100 "questionable" stimulus projects worth nearly $7 billion.

Answer: He will do nothing but sign it,why would he care. He's already created the biggest Budget Deficit in History,he is projected to create more Debt than any President in History at this rate. What is a few Billion more?
Currently the Congress is working on raising the Debt Limit to 14 Trillion dollars, which if it passes will be used up by this time next year.So Americans better get used to a new number,20 Trillion, because that's where we are headed under Comrade 0bama's Reign.

How do I approach my crazy aunt?
Ok, so Ive been answering a bunch of questions here. I thought Id ask one.
Well I live with my aunt and it seems she has lost her mind ever since my grandmother (her mother), died. Im a nice guy. A little too nice. So this is a hard thing for me to do.
She does things that I would call O.C.D. For 1, she has this obsession with chewing ice. At first it wasnt so bad. She would freeze bottles of water, then break the ice up by banging the bottles on furniture. It started small, then it was like two shelves in the freezer with bottles. Now she has me or her friend almost every night, take her to Wawa to fill 44oz. cups from the ice/soda machine with ice. Like 4 Wawa bags with 4 cups each. Weve gotten kicked out of 2 Wawas and 1 7/11.
She also complains about being fat. Yet the refrigerator/freezer, and all the cabinets are full of food of hers. Like overflowing. But she has convinced herself shes on a diet.
This disease or problem is also costing her a lot of money. The electric bill is $1,500 per month, because she stays up all night with the TV/lights on in her room, while sitting out in the garage, chain smoking, while doing a little load of laundry every night.
So my question is, what can I do? Is this a repercussion of my grandmother dying? Im too nice to say to her face that she has an issue or two.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Answer: Hi Brian! Remember me?
Anyway, sounds like OCD to me. The best thing to do is when she asks you to take her for ice, say that it embarrasses you. Try to discuss with her an alternative to doing that.
As for the electric bill, you should ask to see it, and let her know the reasons why it is so high. I know you are skilled in electric. Use that to explain what can be done to help it.
Some people handle death in different ways. Sounds like she has found ways to avoid thinking about it. Chain smoking is very quick way to deteriorate your health. Maybe she feels that will bring her closer to being with her again.
Maybe there is someone else in the family that could help you influence her behavior into changing. But don't gang up on her. That will only make her think that you have turned others against her. Just sit down with her at dinner or something, and bring up gently that you are concerned. You only want good things for her.
Hope this helps!

Ay ay ay. My mother is SO ghetto! How do I get her to shape up?
No really...
She keeps the microwave on top the clothes-washer, because her miniature glass bottle collection takes up the whole counter.
She refuses to let me unplug the refridgerator in the garage, yet she keeps literally *nothing* in it (whats in it right now? A loaf of bread that could be kept in the inside refridgerator if not the cabinet.)...yet wonders why her electric bill was almost $600 last month.
Currently shes had the water turned off for non-payment, and sees nothing wrong with using water thats been stored for "emergencies" for God knows how long outside (in plastic bottles that leach chemicals)...for cooking.
Shes got twelve, yes count em TWELVE cats, not to mention a dog, two rabbits, and a BROWN fish tank.
The Christmas tree has sat half-set up for over a week, and she has made no attempt to set it up the rest of the way.
She uses $10 a trip, refuses to walk the one mile to the store, when she goes and buys food with rent money, then acts surprised that community resources are available and says, "Oh, well you cant return food. Nothing I can do now.".....over and over.
And to top it off, sees nothing wrong with my brother buying a laptop for himself when he refuses to go to school (hes 18, a senior in high school).
I mean, its her life and her house...but...shes just got things so backwards. How do I get her to shape up? It would be different if she had *so* much stuff to do or was disabled or something, but all she does is sit around. She either makes cookies with my nieces, sleeps, or stays in her bathroom making phone calls.
$10 a trip on cab fare, because she wont walk it. Not $10 for the food itself (thats more like $20-$50 a trip, once every week or so.

What to do about animal cruelty at a Vet?
I recently worked for an animal hospital and I had to quit because of the malpractice I saw going on. I need to report this guy somehow. I do not want to go to the police because, for 1. police never seem to care about much of anything, 2. This would be a continuing issue for me to deal with day in and day out until a trial. I have a job, school, and a family to take care of, so Im afraid I wont have the time to get that done.
However, this man needs to have a 3rd party, at least, come and take his practice away. Ive already called PETA and have not heard back from them.
Just a few examples of what goes on here:
- Assistants forced to bathe animals immediately after surgery. My only guess is so that the "wounds" will become infected and the client will have to take their animal back for more drugs that he can charge them for.
- Some days the animals are not allowed out of their kennels more than once (usually for a minute or two).
- The Dr. is incredibly careless and when drawing blood from animals, he does not withdraw the needle carefully and it ends up causing a hematoma. He will then lie to his clients and ramble on about how this is a common thing that happens when dogs get their blood taken.
- There are several expired drugs in his cabinets, possibly being used for animals. I have never witnessed him directly giving them to an animal, however, they are in the front of the cabinet in the surgery room....thats like having your milk in the front of your refrigerator and never using it. I have pictures of expiration dates reading "2005", "2003", "1993", and...brace yourself, "1979"!! Pet food and treats up in the waiting room, which are for sale, also have expired in the past 10 years.
- Clients are being charged for services that we have not performed. For instance, a dog was in for a hematoma which needed to be removed from his ear. I watched this surgery and we took the dog out of the kennel and placed him on the surgery table. The doctor doused his ear in iodine (most likely expired) and sliced it open. However, when we gave the client her bill we were forced to charge her for general anesthesia! The dog was never given any sort of anesthetic! He was wide awake and conscious to what was going on. He was even squiggling and whimpering the whole time!!
These are just a few of the examples of how this doctor mistreats his clients, patients and employees!
To add a note:
He also has a handgun laying around in the office, while the door is wide open, so anyone has access to this. He even had a friend come in with her two children (ages 3, 6). These children were playing around his desk with their coloring books while the handgun was a mere 5 or 6 inches away.
He changes in and out of his scrubs throughout the day and never closes the office door while doing so. Mind you, he has a staff of all females.
Answer: You report ALL of this to the State Veterinarian Board in your state.
Do it NOW!

Problems with Future In-Laws?
I live next door to my future in-laws (yes stupid mistake, I am fully aware). Anyway, here is my problem:
We moved in 2 years ago. I expected bumps in the road as it comes with the territory. However, what has happened is something that I dont think anyone really expects when living next door to their in-laws.
(keep in mind that my fiances parents RENT their house)
So as long as I can remember, my fiances parents have had this problem where their basement floods when it rains really bad. This caused their washer and dryer to go out. Before we moved in, they took their clothes to the launder mat. When we moved in, they decided that it would be more convenient for them to do their laundry over at our house.
When we first moved in it was just his parents and they didnt have much clothes. But then his sister moved in with her 2 year old son about a year ago. Since then, they have been doing laundry for 4 people at our house. Including my fiance and I, that is laundry for 6 people. But thats not all...
Because of their flooding problem, their hot water heater also went out. Instead of demanding to the landlord that it should be fixed, they have been coming over to our house EVERY DAY for the past year to shower. So that is 4 people in and out EVERY DAY to shower.
When we first moved in, our water bill was 30 some dollars. It has gone up to almost 60 freakin dollars. Up until a few months ago, they didnt pay us anything for the water bill.
They also use MY shampoo, conditioner, body wash and my expensive Bath and Body works lotion. I cant even have my own items in the shower b/c they will use it when their stuff runs out. Even when I have hidden it they will go in my cabinets searching for it. My fiance has told them NOT to use my things. They will stop for a while and then use it again. They also do the same with our laundry detergent when their detergent runs out.
My fiances sister will bring her laundry over on a Sunday and leave it there until we call her to pick it up. On many occasions I have had to take her stuff out of the dryer and put her clothes (that she just left) from the washer to the dryer.
Her excuse for not coming to get her things is that she has to watch her son and it is a pain to get him dressed to bring him over while she finishes it (they freakin live next door...its not that it is that far to walk)
I am currently on disability leave from my job, but when my fiance and I would both leave, we were asked to leave our door unlocked so they could come in and out as they pleased. They asked for a key but I said OVER MY DEAD BODY as they once had a spare key and they would just walk in whenever they wanted.
As I mentioned, I am on disability leave b/c I am sick. I often sleep weird hours. They dont care as they will come over and ring the door bell until I wake up so they can take their showers. They dont understand why I just dont leave the door unlocked, but I really dont think it is any of their business.
They take our dog and cat food to give to their animals. They have also taken foil, dish soap and God knows what else. I dont mind the fact to let them borrow stuff, b/c we have borrowed stuff from them too. Sometimes it would be nice if they wold ask...you know?
I finally got my fiance to confront his sister about the laundry situation and warned her that if she cant get her stuff then she can go to the launder mat. But of course she tried to use the " I dont have any money" excuse. She doesnt have a job. She is 25 and has worked probably a year and a half her whole life. I dont really think that is my problem.
Their landlord wont fix their flooding basement problem. I dont want them coming over to my house day after day anymore.
I feel like they are taking advantage of us. What do you think and what would you do to stop it? It is getting so annoying...actually it is just ridiculous.
Answer: sounds like they very serious boundary issues. i would not take this anymore. they should let you and your fiancee live your own lives. i hate to say this, but it will get worse when you get married. and if it is a point of contention now, it could ruin your marriage.

Wife moved out now, no job,no money wants me to help get a car.?
Wife moved out now with her kids (7 y/o and 13 y/o, to where I don’t know two days ago, after I told her I am not driving your 13 y/o son around town at 9: pm as the price of gas is now. She use the car that evening and didn’t put gas in the car, told me she needs my card. I told why u just get the gas while you out, she had money, I told I just pay the bills. You pay for gas and food. She get mad. Her son suppose come home at certain time he late. He doesn’t respect anyone especially his mother, unless he needs something badly. When if you say no, he goes in a rage by slamming kitchen cabinets, hallway doors and also hitting the wall with his fist. Then he starts playing the TV loud. I told I not let a 13 y/o boy run this house. I told him if you don’t like the rules in the house are, get out of the house. I told that in front of my wife. She told me I was wrong to tell him that. I told her this kid not running over me in my house. He does not have respect for my wife or me. She stay home the next day from her temp job, soon I got home she packed her things and left. She told I was wrong to tell a kid that. I told her you told me I am not their father. I can’t punish them. I have an 8 y/o daughter from prior marriage. She just a doll, respects everyone and even to my wife. But my wife thinks I treat her like a princess. I told that what a father suppose to do. I treat her daughter the same way. But my wife doesn’t spend time with her kids. By taking least 30 minutes out of her day, each day to listen what they have to say. They will respect you. She never told her kids about her spending problem (checks bouncing) every week. Her complaints every week is the bank fault. I told her, she needs to budget and we make it; I never had a money issue until my wife. I told her pay a bill on time, she doesn’t. She got a school check; I deposit for her its bounce, she doesn’t know why. Found out she call the school tell them she never got the check and both show up she put one in her account they took the fees she made, and never told me what she did. They put a stop payment one I put in my bank, now I am short in my bank because of her. I told I need her to give me back the money. She said I am not working and no car, I get to you soon as she can. And tell about her son football equipment in my car she wants back. Wants me call my friend about a car for her, she not working, no figure. I really think my wife is bipolar. Should I assist her, give back her son equipment? I know I never get my money back from her. I am seeking a divorce now. She had someone take my belongs while I was at work before?
Answer: I dont think you will miss her when she is gone.

How can I get my 10 year old son to stop stealing?
For over a year now, my ten year old son has been stealing. It started with him stealing from Kmart. I took him back and made him return it. To my dismay, the clerk was WAY to nice about it. Then it progressed to stealing from school and home. I called the sheriffs department and they sent a deputy out to talk to him about the problem. He promised he would never do it again. The next day he stole. We have tried everything from grounding to taking the tv away to making him pull weeds in the yard. Even spanking! He continued to steal and then started blaming it on his 4 year old brother. After becoming fed up AGAIN we called a deputy to come out. He told our son that 3 strikes and your out. I woke up this morning to him stealing from the kitchen (even though we had a HUGE turkey dinner last night) but he wasnt taking breakfast food. He was getting into all the snack that we have in the house. He brought his pillow case out and filled it with snack that he was going to hid in his room. I have no idea what to do anymore. My grocery bill is high enough, especially since I have 5 children, and it has doubled since he has started stealing food. We have even put child locks on all the refrigerators and cabinets. Anyone have any suggestions? The only option I am seeing at this point is spending a night in jail. And we have also talked to a professional. He told us it was a phase and he would grow out of it. That was almost a year ago! HELP!

what do you all think of this?
this is a true story
ok, i have a friend lets call him bob he gets married to lets call her jan
jan has nothing but what little she has brought from her cousins house
and she has no family but a few cousins
jan moved into bobs house after she is marred a few months she quits her job
bob doesnt like this so he said she should work he needs help with the bills
and this is not 1950 anymore
jan tells him that she is not working it may not be 1959 anymore
but he is her husband and the bills are his responsibility
and he should be a man
jan has a cousins who passed away her other cousins comes to pick her up
to go to the funeral she is gone for three days
when she gets back home her husband has moved to the
building in back of the house
he has taken with him the tv, radio, computer, washer, dryer,
refrigerator, he cleaned out the cabinets of food
he cut out the phone and had a new one put in his building in his name
and he took ot all the lights bulbs
jan is up set she checks herself in a shelter for woman
so now bob had to pay for the divorce and pay jan
alimony
what do you think of this
do you think jan should have gotten a job
or should have bob jest took care of jan
like she wanted
Answer: The argument that Bob should pay all the bills because he is a man is a very weak argument. I think Jan was looking for a way to sit on her fat derriere for the rest of her life and use Bob as her caretaker.
It's unfortunate that Bob didn't see this in Jan before they got married.

Im worried about my new rat - please help?
In the past I have had gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. I simply love rodents. However, my mom had always been squeamish about rats so I had never pushed them on her before.
All the sudden, about two days ago, she relented. Part of it was my being enrolled in college and her being proud, part of it was my assurance that I would cover all expenses. The same day, we flew to the pet store and I picked out a gorgeous female white rat with mischievous pink eyes. I also selected a pink cage without taking notice of dimensions, several toys, chew sticks, food, bedding, wheel, plastic house, the whole lot. I had read beforehand that rats enjoy living in pairs, but I knew that I would spend more time with just one rat than I would with two, and I also thought it might be easier to bond with just the one rat as Im not above showing favoritism. However, it was also just easier not to fight with my mom about it at the time, as she had made it clear from the start that there would be no more than ONE rat. I may be 18, but I am going to be living in her house for the next 4 years while I attend college.
After about 3 days, my rat is very comfortable with me. She doesnt run from my hand when I scoop her up, and shes turned my shoulder and hair into a home away from home. She often gets to crawl around my computer desk while I play games, and she likes to scurry over my arms. Im also quite the sap, so she also gets to share quite a bit of my meals. She steals cereal from my bowls and licks the cheese from my Doritos while Im not looking (Its adorable).
However, she seems scared to branch out beyond my bed and my desk. I place her on the kitchen cabinets while I prepare food instead of shoving her back in her cage, and she cowers behind the bread box until I return to pick her up, and she then scurries over to me and crawls back up to my shoulder, burrowing into my hair. I wonder if shes scared or sad and her lack of curiosity is something I should be worried about? She isnt afraid of me, I dont think, but shes certainly hesitant to scamper around like I expected.
As I said, a second rat is not an option, both because of my mom, and because Im a college student footing the bill for all this. I know a second rat would cost me all of five dollars, but thats twice the foot, twice the bedding, a brand new cage, etc... and Im also not fond of the idea of returning her or adopting her out - Ive spent damn near $200 getting her here and set up and as comfortable as I can. Anyone have any idea whats wrong, if anything?
By not an option, I was trying to tell you guys that encouraging me to get a second rat doesnt help me at all. It CAN NOT happen.
Answer: I don't think anything is wrong with her she seems just fine and also seems to be warming up nicely to you and your home. And congratulations on getting an awesome new pet by the way. Any way she might just not like being up high on the counter and away from the safe nest of your shoulder. Just give her time and let her roam around on the floor a bit if you can.
Best of Luck =)
