ok im not going to try to type formally like i usually do. i have to explain a lot. so there was this girl. lets call her Anna. there was this boy. lets call him Fred. Fred was my boyfriend this past school year, and Anna was the new kid in school this past school year. Fred was ok as a partner, although not all that great. anna joins my friends circle, and everything goes along well. shes a spazz, im a spazz. shes nice, im nice. i love her for the first few months. then she starts showing her bitchy side. so at the orchestra room, we have 2 pianos. when a friend of hers is playing the piano, anna always boots that person off and says "no youre not doing it right" or "i wanna show you something." for some reason, i tolerated this. anna would rant her problems out to us all the time- even the most insignificant things shed cry over. she complained about her screwed up life when it really wasnt really screwed up at all. she blamed her luck and the people around her for her problems, like the physical anger her parents expressed to her almost everyday. many times she would try and chat with me at the most inopportune moments, like when i was playing piano. basiclaly like when i was gone doing stuff. shed always blow up on and get mad at me just because i wasnt there to listen to her unravel. i even put in my status that i wasnt there. Shed drag everyone away from me. if i had a friend with me, she would literally snatch her away and say "________, lets go _________" and just ditch me. and note not all these friends of mine generally went willingly, but no one objected because they feared Anna explosive reactions. everytime id hang out with a guy, shes zoom in and hog him. satisfying thing is, around a guy, shed always act stupid and ditzy. all the guys she knows now thinks shes shallow and retarded or something. anyways, moving on to fred.. so Fred like, I said, was my boyfriend. he was... liberal about hugs. hed give them to any girl he knew, really. that didnt bother me. but Anna started hugging him in this sickening clingy manner, like they were a couple or something. right it front of me. he let it happen. it was disgusting, not heartbreaking. so i let this happen for a year, then at one point i couldnt take it anymore. they were sleeping on each others shoulders on a bus ride one day. they were sitting in front of me KNOWINGLY. (side opinion: nows the time to say that the girls a super slutty bitch and the guys a fucking jackass. time to calm down.) the girl knew well why i was crying and pretended nothing happened. and i still forgave her. how stupid i was. then from then on our friendship broke up. she was causing my friend group so much pain and drama (i didnt even explain half of what was going on) and she still said that she was leaving this group because of the all drama WE (my friends circle) were causing. oh and Fred and I broke up. douchebag. for SOME reason, even after all shes done to me, im kind of hurt everytime on facebook when i see her interact with my friends. i havent seen her in a while. i dont like having enemies, and unfortunately this year ive made 2. i dont know why im hurt. i think i should be loose and nonchalant, but for some reason im not. what should i do? should i make up with her? after all shes done? or should i ditch her and turn to new horizons?
Answer: i honestly think you should move on to new horizons. I believe you are really not mad at Anna. I think you may very well be mad at yourself for being such a pushover where Anna is concerned. You taught Anna how to treat you by accepting unacceptable behavior. Reading between the lines, I can see that you are a thoughtful and caring and forgiving person. Forgive yourself for trusting Anna as your friend and only then will you let go of the inner turmoil you feel about her. Your friends KNOW her, like you do. Perhaps they are just tolerating her, like you used to. Do not go out of your way to be friends with her and do not gossip about her and do not be outwardly mean to her. Just go about your business and forget about this angry girl. You cannot make everyone feel the same way about Anna as you do, so don't allow their relationship with her feel like some sort of betrayal to you. Continue to be nonchalant. Don't be friendly or unfriendly to Anna. She sounds like a girl who desperately needs some attention and will do whatever she can to get it. Eventually others will see this personality trait in their own time. Carry on and have a wonderful life.
