Can we save the world?
We look around us and it seems everything we cherish and hold dear is starting to look irrelevant in the eyes of others. Can we get rid of nuclear weapons? Can we regenerate the environment? Can we stop the abuse of the young and elderly, the weak and the poor? Can we promise true equal rights for all? Can we stop each other from killing ourselves? Can we halt inequality? Can we keep self-interest and the status quo to a minimum? What do you think? IF EVERYONE opened their eyes, do you think we can save the world? How else can we face God if we dont do these things?
Answer: What you're asking for is an ideal world. And an ideal world is impossible because we aren't ideal. If we were, we wouldn't be human. All we can do is give our best. That's it.

The effect on the gulf stream from Climate change: unprecedented threats?
I watched a programme the other night called “how to survive armegeddon". It was a programme from the discovery channel if I remember correctly. It highlighted ways in which humanity faces extinction and the demise of our species, it didnt offer much hope as you can imagine. Anyway one of the ways they stated humanity could cease to be is from the apocalyptic effect on the gulf stream from climate change. It said that If we do nothing we agree that we are all going to die without trying to save ourselves, it said that rising sea levels, that threaten to flood all coastal regions around tue world, forcing millions inland in the next 80years, will effect tue warmth of the stream. It stayed that Europe will endure a cataclysmic 100 year winter that would kill millions of people as we endure temperatures of -25 many will freeze to death within months. The test of tue world would face drought and starvation. The programme effectively stated that the human race faces extinction within 100years if we do not stop, or halt the rapid change in the climate that threatens to engulf the worlds Coastal regions and put entire countries under water. The programme concluded that climate change and the effects on the gulf stream is the single biggest threat to our survival and If we do nothing, come 2050 the world will start changing for the worse. Is this correct? Would the gulf stream be effected this way?
Answer: The programme you watched has over-dramatised the reality of the situation, something that many programmes are guilty of. The truth of the matter is that climate change may affect the Gulf Stream, then again it may not, nobody can say for certain.
The Gulf Stream (or North Atlantic Conveyor) is an ocean current that flows from the Caribbean and across the Atlantic Ocean. It delivers warm water to the Northeast Atlantic. As a result countries such as the UK, France, Denmark, the Scandinavian countries, Iceland and parts of Greenland experience a climate warmer than would otherwise be the case. In the UK for example, the climate is some 7°C warmer thanks to the Gulf Stream.
The Gulf Stream is one part of a much larger system of ocean currents, collectively known as Thermohaline Circulation. The word thermohaline being derived from thermo – density and haline – salinity. It’s these two factors that drive the world’s ocean currents.
The Gulf Stream is perhaps the most susceptible to changes in the ocean’s density and salinity. It’s relatively unstable at the best of times and one line of thinking is that the melting of water from the Greenland Ice Sheet and the Arctic will introduce too much cold, fresh water into the North Atlantic thus affecting both salinity and density. Because one would be affected positively and the other negatively it may be that the two cancel each other out.
Because the Gulf Stream is part of the much larger global system of ocean currents there would be a knock-on effect were the Gulf Stream to be affected. If you imagine a bowl with water swirling around and you place a hand into the bowl, it’s not just the flow of water around your hand that is affected but all the water in the bowl.
Were the Gulf Stream to shut down, divert, deviate or truncate there would be a redistribution of warm and cold water on a global scale. For example, the warm Caribbean water that currently makes its way to Northern Europe could flow in a different direction. If for example it turned and headed south it would significantly warm the waters off the east coast of South America. This would raise ocean temperatures above the threshold for hurricanes to form and countries like Brazil could see as many devastating hurricanes as the US presently does.
At the same time, northern Europe would cool significantly and there would be a considerable advance of ice – perhaps not too dissimilar to the last ice age (temps back then were 10°C colder as opposed to the 7°C cooler should the Gulf Stream stop). This new ice cover would significantly affect Earth’s albedo (reflectivity) with the result that there would be a marked increase in the amount of solar radiation (heat from the Sun) being reflected back into space – this would have the effect of further cooling the planet, thus leading to more ice and so a closed coupled feedback mechanism would be established which would impact the entire planet.
Sea and ocean temperatures in the Equatorial Regions are the birthing place for the winds of the planet. The warm seas and air temperatures cause air masses to rise, pressure gradients, coriolis (spinning) effect &c of Earth drive these winds towards the Polar Regions. Any changes to ocean currents would affect global wind patterns; such changes could be beneficial to some and detrimental to others.
One of the big problems we face at the moment is a lack of knowledge regarding the whole thermohaline circulation. It's something that's only really been studied in recent years and until we have a greater understanding of the mechanisms and processes involved we can but speculate as to how it would be affected were the Gulf Stream to change in some way.
I wouldn't worry too much about this. There have always been fluctuations in the Gulf Stream and although recent changes have been more significant than the norm, they're not at a level about which we need get overly concerned and are more likely the result of natural variations rather than a consequence of human activity.

How close was the country to revolution during the Depression?
A lot closer than some people think. It was really Roosevelts reforms that saved the system from itself and averted total catastrophe. Youve got to remember, it wasnt only peoples money that went down the drain in 1929; it was also their whole traditional system of values. Americans had learned to celebrate their society as an earthly way station to paradise, with all the cherished virtues of hard work and thrift as their tickets to security, success and happiness. Then suddenly, in just a few days, those tickets were canceled and apparently unredeemable, and the bottom fell out of everything. The American dream became a nightmare overnight for the overwhelming majority of citizens, and the pleasant, open-ended world they knew suddenly began to close in on them as their savings disappeared behind the locked doors of insolvent banks, their jobs vanished in closed factories and their homes and farms were lost to foreclosed mortgages and forcible eviction. Suddenly the smokestacks were cold and lifeless, the machinery ground to a halt and a chill seemed to hang over the whole country.

Opinions and advice for the beginning of my story please?
Midnight Dance
The ceiling and I are having a staring contest. When I blink, we start over. A fresh new page to try again. If only this method worked in life. The life that lies outside of my mind, raging with lies, empty promises, and hate. Its a world that will cause me more pain and tears, than happiness and laughter. Ive locked myself away to simply protect myself. Ive thrown away the key.
My ears detect a soft snoring coming from the living room. My fathers finally fallen asleep. Now his tormenting, unhuman laughter is but a memory that will forever haunt me. That laugh which echoes throughout my mind is not his own. It belongs to the vodka.
The lock clicks as I unlock my door. My first step on the sandy colored rug lining my house, ends with a creek. The blood flowing through my veins pumps just a bit faster than normal. Taking a deep breath, I scurry to the kitchen. A dim light guides me towards the cabinet, where the Devils juice is held. The bottle feels heavy in my hand, even though only a few sips remain. It weighs my hand down with guilt, sadness, and pain. I read the label near the cap, clearly stating that this liquid may cause health problems. Funny how they dont mention that it may just destory your family and your relationship with your own daughter.
I twist off the cap with my fingertips, being careful not to make noise. It smells of must and medicine. My tongue caresses the mouth of the bottle. My tastebuds find a drop of the liquid. It slightly burns the back of my throat. Licking my lips doesnt stop the tingling sensation I feel on them. How is this drink appealing? My question isnt answered and I have a feeling it never will be.
Im back on my bed, listening to the loud silence that fills the air surrounding me. Im struggling to ignore the questions that remains unanswered, inside my mind. My index finger meets my tingling, chapped lips. The questiond fades away, giving up for now. I curl up under my worn quilt, overwhelming my body with the feeling of protection. How could such a thin layer of fabric make me feel as if nothing could harm me? So many questions, yet no answers.
The curtains beside my bed ripple like waves on a summer night. Closing my eyes, I touch the soft fabric, transporting myself to that beach. The cool, refreshing water washes over my bare feet. The sun glows deep orange, reflecting off the unending ocean, kissing my face. My soul glows with a comforting warmth.
My eyelids flick open. Here my soul doesnt feel so warm. I pull back the curtains, letting my eyes search the velvet black sky. The pale moon lights up the world and stars with its radiant beauty. My eyes glisten along with the stars. They dot the sky in a random order, creating unknown paintings of hopes and dreams. I snap a mental picture, storing it in the drawer of my soul, where I can carry it close forever.
My heart aches. How I long to dance in the light of that painting in the sky. Who is to say I cant? A breeze runs up my spine as I open my window. My bare feet sticking to the window pane as I awkwardly crawl out of the window. My feet soon find the ground, not yet covered in dew. The cool blades of grass tickle my feet. A giggle escapes my lips. Soon the air and I are one element. An element of happiness, freedom, and joy. Leaves dance on the ends of branches as my backyard becomes my stage. A sweet piano soon plays in the background and becomes the soundtrack for this moment. My hair twirls around me, trying to keep up, as my feet move gracefully across the Earth.
I no longer see where Im going, but rather feel where Im going. My soul is the map, while my feet are my means of transportation. When my eyes open I look towards the sky. My audience of stars clap silently as the piano comes to a halt. Ive saved that lovely music on the hard drive of my soul, so it can play softly throughout my life and dreams.
Im back in my room, once again. Ive said my goodbyes to the moon and stars, and closed my rippling curtains. Now I lay down, wrapped in my worn quilt. The silence is soon interrupted by piano keys. The soundtrack of my midnight dance fills in for the obnoxious silence. Slowly, my eyelids droop and the sweet song lulls me too sleep.

why does Hollywood never give enough recognition to Britain in World War Two?
I recently havent notice one modern movie that is mainly about or features British soldiers as a major part, in a movie. For example Saving Private Ryan although the movie covered the US landings at Omaha, they never once run into non Americans, there were over 80,000 British And Canadian Troops (at least 60,000 British) and 70,000 US Troops, weird huh? There have been a number of Films including Britain but look how Hollywood portrays US troops as if they were the only nation fighting.
Dont get me wrong, im fine that the US fought against Germany but its just a bit weird that so many Films make it as if America done all the fighting.
Also i know some will say we saved your ass, which brings to my next point:
Why is it you saved UKs ass if Britain already managed to single handily stop Hitler in North Africa and stop him getting to the middle eastern oil fields? How is it that after the Battle of Britain (which Britain manged to stop twice the amount of aircraft) which halted a Germany Invasion, so how comes even though the US had not joined yet how did they not invade? Let me also remind you that Britain Sank Germanys biggest battleship.
Britain managed to survive through years of bombing on its major cities, how would you feel if LA and New york were bomb by the Japanese every night and still no one knew if your enemy was going to invade today, next week or next month? There are also battles you dont hear about such as Britain defeating Iraqi rebels who were doing a coup and also helping Germany by borrowing airbases. Aswell as this Britain and Russia jointly invaded Iran. There were also battles near and in India, not a US soldier in sight in this area.
Also Remember Britain was still recovering from WW1, whole generations of men here had been killed, and of course 20 years later you would still be feeling the affects, while America frankly had 0.001% of its population killed in ww1.
Finally Britain declared war because it wanted to defend Democracy, while although US entered war with Japan because it had been attack, US either waited to see who would win or to get as much money as it could before inevitably joining, and before you say how US gave the UK lots of things to help, you didnt you loaned/sold us it, and lets not forgot US Contractors still had deals with the Nazi Government. I always see the US people and the positions in the US from that time always going on how they love the constitution and freedom etc, but in WW2 u didnt care about democracy just money.
Answer: Hollywood - films - made (or at least financed) in America.
Population of the UK - approx 60 million
Population of the US - approx 310 million.
Who do you think it more important to pitch your films towards?
The third most populous country in the world that is also funding the film, or one that falls below 20th?
The argument is that if Britain wants to make films glorifying British war activity then it is free to do so - in the same way as Hollywood has with American ones. Instead we chose to make films like (brilliant though they are) "The Hill" amd "Ice Cold in Alex". The only ones that wind me up are films like "The Great Escape" and U571 that are fabrifications of hidtorical events that those who know no better may take as accounts of history.

Tax and Spend, Really?
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/06/crisis-idUSLDE77504R20110806
S&P actually did it, they downgraded us, we now will be paying more on our interests. And by following Keynesian strategy, all of our stimulus and inflation for a lack luster recover in the job market has not others questioning in investing in the US $ and going onto a world currency simply because of how much the $ was devalued during this stimulus season. If that would to occur the US would fall dramatically. So in short Keynesians have destroyed our economy as our current issue is debt to gdp ratio and inflation, two things that can be directly attributed to Keynesian thought.
1) Now the senate democrats are saying we should increase taxes to cover this, at this point I say, lets explore the reality of that option.
First and foremost, I would like to point out, our unemployment number is being extremely stubborn to Keynesian spending, in that despite our "job" bills, unemployment numbers are not changing, the best chance of seeing the unemployment stat go down is if people stop looking for work to not get included in the number but that doesn’t really help us. So your taxable base is in short, diminished. Democrats then think they have come up in idea to get out of a bad economy. Hey wait! Lets tax the rich, and why not, they gots da monay. Unfortunately for democrats there are a lot of negative or neutralizing effects with this. a) You cant close the debt/gdp ratio in a bad economy, while you could theoretically do this in a good economy to prep for bad times, you cant at all do this in the middle of a recession and expect good results. B) During a recession the laffer curve falls and so does the optimal tax rate. C) There will be crowding out, as in the spending that they would have done is now no longer performed, investment will be low and thus jobs will not rise at the same rate, and people will halt (save not spend), move (find friendlier environments), or even hide (illegal activity) their income.
2) Taxes are a red hearing from the real issue, spending
Spending outlook over the years
http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/108xx/doc10871/Chapter3.shtml
This alone should be more than enough to shatter the tax debate. Tax revenue cannot match the rise in spending. If you got to figure 3.1, you’ll see how mandatory spending (our social spending) is exploding and how our discretionary spending (which includes defense) is shrinking. In short mandatory spending is dominating our budget, and thus structural changes are in order to curtail, cut, or drop as necessary.
Budget break down
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/02/01/us/budget.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_budget
In the first link, if you want to find % of the budget it is using take the item in question and divide the amount (in billions) over 3690, and you get the %..
While it is not impossible to keep a welfare state, democrats are simply not allowing another look at fixing these programs to be more efficient, dodging these issues does not fix them. If you want to keep the welfare state and a functional economy, the main items in the welfare state need to be susceptible to change to be made sustainable.
I am not advocating no taxes, just that structual changes into mandatory spending is where the real solution is.
Anyways, praises and criticisms welcomed, what are your thoughts on the article and or my thoughts?
Answer: You are only going to get the same rhetoric and demagoguery in response as always. The concepts are beyond the average supporter of the administration and those who can understand remain willfully ignorant of reality. Inevitably someone will bring up the thirties as an example of how you are wrong not realizing that the application of their economic theories at that time effectively extended the economic troubles an additional seven years.

Changing the world: Activist or Anarchist?
I want an answer to this question: is the best way to change politics in the united states to follow the rules or break them? In the news recently we have seen the Occupy wallstreet movement and the Keystone pipeline rally. The occupy wallstreet movement(OWM) was, allegedly, an illegal assembly of people with no point or purpose for an undetermined period of time. Comparatively, The Keystone rally was organized, had a purpose, and a set time period. Both rallies have made some changes: the pipeline has been halted, and OWM has brought attention to the inequality between the rich and poor. However, the pipeline has not been officially killed and could easily be brought back by those in power, while police in riot gear have moved to break up a peaceful protest turned angry mob. Yes, unarmed individuals were hurt, but did their injuries accomplish anything?
So I ask, How do we bring about change? Do we break the rules and get penalized because of it, or play the game severely handicapped? If I want to save a forest, do I hand out flyers while backroom deals have already been made, or sneak in the dead of night to sabotage the construction equipment and risk arrest, jail, and a felony for the rest of ones life? What can we do?
Answer: Depends, if the civil rights marchers of the 1960's were considered activists or anarchists, seems the latter when you realize how brutally they were responded to by police with attack dogs and water canons, and a whole lot of arrests, most will call them activists, some will call them anarchists, depending on whether you are for or against them, you decide.

HIGH & LOW FINANCE; Sometimes, Inflation Is Not Evil
Sometimes, you have to unlearn your lessons. Thirty years ago, it became clear that defeating inflation was crucial, even if the means needed to accomplish that would cause a deep recession. How on Earth can paying more taxes possibly save the World from climate change?
TRYING to halt global warming is a waste of time; we should simply adapt to it, a leading climate expert claimed yesterday.
Reducing carbon dioxide emissions is an “illusory goal”, said Professor Bob Carter of James Cook University, Australia.
He said that CO2; emitted by burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal and gas, is a “minor” greenhouse gas. And he argued that the past decade has seen a “lack of warming” and that “no significant warming has occurred since 1958".
He told Lord Lawson’s Global Warming Policy Foundation: “Despite an estimated spend of more than £64billion since 1990 looking for a human global temperature signal, assessed against geological reality, no compelling empirical evidence yet exists for a measurable, let alone worrisome, human impact on global average temperature.
“Dealing with climate reality as it unfolds represents the most prudent, practical and cost-effective solution to the global warming/climate change issue.”
How on Earth can paying more taxes possibly save the World from climate change?
Shouldnt we all just learn to adapt to the changes in our climate?
Answer: Excellent question!
Link?
Who needs a link to "know" the Governments of the World are seeking to CARBON TAX us all to reverse Global Warming?
Where have you been Fox?
Oh,..and by the way, it's not just TAX they are seeking now,..oh no,....they also want to starve us all by rationing!
Global warming is now such a serious threat to mankind (allegedly) that so called climate change 'experts' (who are no doubt very thankful for their Govt grants) are calling for Second World War-style rationing in rich countries to bring down carbon emissions!!
No Joke!
As the world meets in Cancun, Mexico for the latest round of United Nations talks on climate change (notice how they don't call it Global Warming anymore), the influential academics called for much tougher measures to cut carbon emissions.
In one paper Professor Kevin Anderson, Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, said the only way to reduce global emissions enough, while allowing the poor nations to continue to grow, is to halt economic growth in the rich world over the next twenty years.
This would mean a drastic change in lifestyles for many people in countries like Britain as everyone will have to buy less ‘carbon intensive’ goods and services such as long haul flights and fuel hungry cars.
Prof Anderson admitted it “would not be easy” to persuade people to reduce their consumption of goods
He said politicians should consider a rationing system similar to the one introduced during the last “time of crisis” in the 1930s and 40s.
“The Second World War and the concept of rationing is something we need to seriously consider if we are to address the scale of the problem we face,” he said.
Maybe if the criminal, fraudulent and totally corrupt politicians try this on the rest of us it will be the spark we need to radicalise everyone enough to finally stand up and refuse to cooperate with this totally fraudulent and fascist undertaking which seeks to rape and starve us all into a totalitarian nightmare!
This is the truth.

What are the most egregious death-dealing policies promoted by environmentalists?
Topping the list must be the banning of DDT, a miracle pesticide unrivaled for its efficacy, longevity, in expense, and safety. That’s right, safety: DDT has been studied for decades and never been shown to have ill effects on human beings or significant bad effects on beasts, birds, or trees. It kills what it is intended to kill, insects. DDT halted budding typhus epidemics during World War II, potentially saving millions of lives including thousands of American troops. Its banning has killed millions, mostly children who die from malaria every year.
Several prominent environmentalist leaders have explained that their opposition to DDT was based on their desire for Third World people to die. For example, Sierra Club Director Michael McCloskey said in 1971 in order to explain his organization’s opposition to DDT, “By using DDT, we reduce mortality rates in underdeveloped countries without the consideration of how to support the increase in populations.” Alexander King, co-founder of the Club of Rome, wrote in 1990, “So my chief quarrel with DDT in hindsight is that it greatly added to the population problem.” That’s right—prominent and influential environmentalists oppose DDT because it saves human lives.
And what about the bio fuel debacle that increased food cost to starving nations by as much as 50% by wasting grain turning it into fuel? The climate change panic and suggested "solutions" like cap and trade are further examples.
For those that claim the risk of DDT outweigh the lives os as many as 40 million people and counting, Id suggest doing a bit more research. Read about the professor that has eaten it for 40 years.

In the face of millions of unessary deaths you would hope people would be able to put aside their preconcieved opinions and look at new data with an open mind. Obviously that is not the case. DDT appeared to be so harmful in the 1950s and 1960s because of its widespread use in heavy dosages, mostly from government spray campaigns but also from overuse by private sprayers who had not learned proper conservation. When DDT is sprayed in massive doses, birds can suffer acute effects. "The fault for this lies in the massive agricultural use of DDT. Dusting a single 100-hectare cotton field, for example, can require more than 1,200 kg of DDT over 4 weeks," write Attaran et al. (2000, 729). Unfortunately, children in developing countries are paying the cost of excessive use fifty years ago.

Answer: You are quite incorrect about DDT, - it has a long documented history of environmental problems and health effects
Crop fuel production was hailed by Bush (most environmentalists want efficiency with biofuel made from waste)
Chronic effects
DDT has caused chronic effects on the nervous system, liver, kidneys, and immune systems in experimental animals. Dose levels at which effects were observed are at very much higher levels than those which may be typically encountered in humans(14). However they may be at, or even below, levels found in body fat (see below).
Reproductive effects
DDT causes adverse reproductive effects in test animals. In one rat study, oral doses of 7.5 mg/kg/day for 36 weeks resulted in sterility. In rabbits, doses of 1 mg/kg/day administered on gestation days 4-7 resulted in decreased foetal weights. In mice, doses of 1.67 mg/kg/day resulted in decreased embryo implantation and irregularities in the oestrus cycle over 28 weeks(15). Many of these observations may be the result of disruptions to the endocrine (hormonal) system.
Available epidemiological studies involving exposure to DDT have not confirmed adverse effects in humans. One study did report a significant association between maternal DDT blood levels and miscarriage, but the presence of other organochlorines in maternal blood, make it difficult to attribute the effect solely to DDT(16).
Teratogenic effects (birth defects)
Again there is evidence that DDT causes teratogenic effects in test animals. In mice, maternal doses of 26 mg/kg/day DDT from gestation through to lactation resulted in impaired learning in maze tests(17). Epidemiological studies involving humans are unavailable(18).
Cancer
The evidence relating to DDT and carcinogenicity provides uncertain conclusions. It has increased tumour production, mainly in the liver and lungs, in test animals such as rats, mice and hamsters in some studies, but not in others. In rats, liver tumours were induced in three studies at doses of 12.5 mg/kg/day over periods of 78 weeks to life, and thyroid tumours were induced at doses of 85 mg/kg/day over 78 weeks. Tests have shown laboratory mice were more sensitive to DDT. Life time doses of 0.4 mg/kg/day resulted in lung tumours in the second generation and leukaemia in the third generation, and liver tumours were induced at oral doses of 0.26 mg/kg/day in two separate studies over several generations(19).
The US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has determined that 'DDT may reasonably be anticipated to be a human carcinogen'. DHHS has not classified DDE and DDD, but the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined that they are probable human carcinogens(20).
Work carried out by the US National Cancer Institute correlates breast cancer in women with increased levels of DDE in blood serum. From 14,290 women monitored in the New York University Women's Health Study, researchers selected 58 women who had developed breast cancer and 171 matched controls without cancer. After adjusting for participants' childbearing and breast feeding histories, and for family history of breast cancer, researchers found a four-fold increase in relative risk of breast cancer for women with elevated levels of DDE in the blood(21).
Residues in food
DDT is very fat-soluble and is therefore found in fatty foods such as meat and diary products.
Even in countries across North America and Northern Europe, where its use has been banned for over a decade (see restrictions) DDT residues are still often found in food. This is because of environmental persistence, illegal use, or importation of contaminated food from regions where DDT is still used.
A range of analysis has been carried out in the UK, which is indicative of levels in the region. During 1996, the UK Working Party of Pesticide Residues (WPPR) found residues of DDT in butter, milk, eggs, lamb, potatoes, deep water fish and shell fish(22). The WPPR is trying to establish whether residues have originated from recent illegal use, or historical contamination.
In a survey of non-indigenous deep water fish and shell fish, low levels of DDT residues and metabolites were found in 16 (50%) of the deep water samples and three (19%) of the 16 shell fish samples analysed. Residues of DDE, TDE and DDT found indicated the pollution originated from countries where DDT is still approved (or has recently been approved) for use.
Eggs analysed as part of the Total Diet Survey in 1996 were found to contain residues as p,p'-DDT, o,p'-DDT, p,p-TDE and p,p'-DDE.
In another 1996 WPPR study which monitored geese for the first time, residues of DDT as p,p'-DDE and p,p'-DDT were found in 25% of samples, a residue profile similar to that found in ducks in a 1995 survey. The presence of p'p-DDT may indicate more recent DDT exposure to these animals(23).
The dietary intake of DDT is considerably higher in developing countries. In 1996, the World H

is my story any good?
wrote this one day.. want to get my story out but havent got any feedback yet. how do i write? seriously
i want to hear the good and bad. the style was inspired by hunter thompsons writing.
The X-mas music beamed from the blithe record player. A dark and somber birthday memory. A Water balloon toss
ending in a wet and crying birthday girl. Can getting stung by a wasp at 3 years old qualify as a traumatic
experience? well, no worries, it gets worse. 1st memories aside, lets get to the nasty of this thing they call life...
the pain started 1st.. the nightly sobbing was my pill. a lot of self medication. slicing the skin and revealing the red
monster was another pill worth taking. Id like to start with happy memories but the truth hurts like hell sometimes.
cutting my self open and feeling relief was a desperate and reckless action brought on by the feeling of extreme and
intense despair.
what sort of wall can i build to protect me from this pain and weakness, what can i do to escape the love less house i am
prisoner of? what could i do but to get out and fast? i needed a quick dose of happiness and fast. putting the pain
far from my heart and gaining some sort of sanity, i had to get out, i didnt care how, i didnt care if it made any sense
i wanted the hell out of that blood stained misery.
so i got out. and boy did i ... strait from high school to basic training.. thats when real hell showed its face. fucking ugly
as sin and shit mingled into a disgusting disease brought from fear and pain... the mind is a horrible thing... ha
and it wasnt going to go easy on me. it was going to try its best to mutilate and halt all existence. it was tring to kill
me, it wouldnt succeed. although it very easily could have, if i had let it...
the towers were hit i heard.. not on the tv news or in the paper.. but an eerie and vague announcement from higher ups in basic.. ok..
if you are going to go looney tunes and you could pick an environment.. why not a pre war America headed for revenge and
ur in the right place at the exact right time, war it is, we all knew it that 1st day.
so, was i already crazy or did 9 11
bring it on?
was i destined to become ill... or did the united states of America make me sick, well.... literal here i was
deathly sick .. not physically although it hurt like hell... my mind was in arrears all pestering agents at work. the sweet
dreams of my future wiped away in a flash of death and destruction.. my "plan" was destroyed and i was alive to reap the
consequences.
my mind failed me either way.
i was so much weaker than i had imagined.
i thought i was a strong and stable human being.
i was wrong. 1st came the paranoia ... everyones out to get me. steal from me.. hurt me.
next came the irrational thinking.. and it was wild.. i thought i was the one..i thought i was Jesus, i had come back to
save the world
the tv was talking to me and i was scared.
hallucinations where to follow.. seeing things might be fun when your tripping i dont knw
but fucking seeing things when your strait ...just because, and u dont know your sick yet..
those hallucinations.. are real.. and you dont know your the only one seeing them..
you think everyones in on it and the whole world is going through some sorta change.
it was never a sickness thing at 1st.. i was gung ho for the army.. wanted to stay
it was my fucking plan for gods sake
i wasnt sick!
they sent me home with a medical discharge on a greyhound bus with out food or money to buy it..
oh the army fucked me up and sent me home to get worse and i had no one to look to,
that misery of a blood bath... called home ... didnt want me
after all the hell i went through THEY didnt want ME
i blame the military for screwing me over and treating me worse than garbage ...
they literally made me sick then turned the other cheek
fuck u 2
fml, and i mean that .. its not a bad day its not fucking bf troubles. it is my life and i only get one
so good luck to the mentally ill and take care.. know u are not alone. u are not alone.
the army is no place for the mentally ill, its only the reason.
thanks.

Darfur – Arab racism & Islamist oppression?
After the horrors of Rwanda, Tony Blair and other world leaders promised they would never again allow genocide to happen. Despite these fine words, another genocide is happening right now in Darfur and the international community is failing to protect the victims.
If these massacres were happening to white people in Surrey or Sweden, you can be sure there would be swift intervention to halt the killing. One cannot help wonder whether the global indifference to the slaughter in Darfur has anything to do with the fact that the victims are black and live in far away Africa. We would not tolerate this killing on our doorstep. Why are we tolerating it in Darfur?
Over the last three years, the death rate in Darfur has been, on average, the equivalent of a 9/11 every week. The world has sat back and watched as around 400,000 people have died and two million others have been displaced. Over three million Darfurians are living a knife edge existence, with many dependent on international aid for their survival.
How many more have to die before we do something effective to stop the slaughter?
Calling for international action to save lives in Darfur isnt neo-imperialism, as some on the left allege. It is international solidarity and justice – the liberation of the oppressed. Doing nothing, which is what sections of left would prefer, is collision with the oppressors. Some people might also see it as racist for the supposedly anti-imperialist left to leave black Africans to die in their hundreds of thousands.
The UN, as the guardian of universally-agreed international human rights laws, has a moral and legal duty to take immediate and effective action to stop the massacres. Support for a UN peacekeeping force is a key demand of many of those participating in Sundays Global Day for Darfur, which includes a London protest outside the Sudanese Embassy, followed by a march to Downing Street http://www.dayfordarfur.org/Events/London_UK.htm
Despite the Darfur Peace Agreement, signed in May, the violence has not ceased. The Islamist government of Sudan and its Janjaweed proxies last month launched fresh offensives in defiance of the peace agreement. They continue their rampage of rape, torture, mutilation and slaughter against black Darfurians; razing villages, burning crops and killing cattle – provoking mass displacement, homelessness, starvation and death (albeit on a lesser scale than two years ago).
Darfur is a needless, preventable humanitarian tragedy, aided by the complacency and inaction of the international community - especially the shameful nit-picking and delays by the United Nations.
How many more have to die before we do something effective to stop the slaughter?
Answer: Is not the father of Anna Nicoles baby more important than suffering in Dafur?

Tax and spend? Really?
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/06/crisis-idUSLDE77504R20110806
Budget break down

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_budget
In the first link, if you want to find % of the budget it is using take the item in question and divide the amount (in billions) over 3690, and you get the %..
While it is not impossible to keep a welfare state, democrats are simply not allowing another look at fixing these programs to be more efficient, dodging these issues does not fix them. If you want to keep the welfare state and a functional economy, the main items in the welfare state need to be susceptible to change to be made sustainable.
Anyways, praises and criticisms welcomed, what are your thoughts on the article and or my thoughts?

Why do environmentalist seem so insane and stupid? Are they really just stupid or is environment just pretext?
From a Question earlier
When are we going to stop the insanity of the Environmentalists?
First they turned the beautiful lush farmlands of central CA into a dust bowl, by starving farmers there of water and killing 100 year old farms and orchards and putting a million people out of work...now they are in ID taking over federal lands through district judges to halt grazing of cattle...to save a bird...
http://www.kivitv.com/story/14451138/jud…
Additional Details
This is insane, and needs to stop...the guy who shut down grazing in ID wants to shut down grazing of cattle on federal land everywhere in the west. Guess nobody will be able to get a burger to eat if they want one, cause the environmentalists are making sure you dont have fruit, vegetables and now beef, soon they will be going after chicken farmers if they havent already.
Answer to that question:
Their goal is not Environmentalism, its to destroy the food supply and business using Environmentalism as a pretext. They are Wolves in Sheeps clothing, They are Watermelons, Green on the outside, Red on the inside. They hide their true goal and use whatever they can as pretext, which is why their pretexts seem so stupid. They are not stupid, they are diabolical in their twisted pursuit of goals by finding pretexts.
The US Progressive Movement was created by the Fabian Society, you can track the members efforts and the creation of the Progressive movement which was accompanies and helped greatly by the Fabian Banking interests which also pushed the Federal Reserve Scam in the US.
Read these links, they may take a while to get how they work in, but the facts in these links lays out how it was done if you understand what the goal is. The Goal is world domination, the Progressive Goal in the USA is to bring the USA down so Fabians in Europe can take control. Now the USA is the lynch pin in their plans. Global Warming is one tool, the UN another, they team up with the Muslim brotherhood to heat things up in the world, and other groups, they use groups and then throw them away like the financiers of the Russian Revolution did the Bolsheviks, killed them off and didnt implement Communism, but Oligarchy with themselves in charge. Thats how they work, thats how they are working now. Working to put the world under one world government with themselves as Oligarchs, they wont appear as such at first, but thats how they go every time.

GayShoot ... no one wants to destroy the world, or let it get nasty, NO ONE. Some are using a load of lies as a pretext to destroy the food supply, and they dont do a very good job with the environment either because thats not their main concern. I am an environmentalist, a real one, genuine. Ive seen those idiots trash business with environment as a pretext and damage the environment while they were doing it. Our countries forestry policy under Clinton for example to force the cost of housing up. They also destroyed much of the forest because they wouldnt allow logging or let it burn, to much fuel built up and caused super fires that were horrible for the environment.
Answer: Their are idiots who have no clue that just listen to what they see as qualification. They basically can't think for themselves and they are lazy so anyone with a piece of paper is good enough for them if their trusted people say so, but they are duped.
The ones behind all this are anything but stupid, they are diabolical, evil, Machiavellian like you've never dreamed possible. You link about the Fed Explains well how they work. Good stuff, I wish everyone knew the facts on this issue. The One world government bastards are working to destroy the world food supply to weaken possible opposition. It's hard to starve and fight at the same time.

Would Republicans Really have allowed GM To go Bankrupt if they Won in 2008?
I keep hearing republicans now upset that GM is Swimming. They have a hard time accepting that a Democrat did for GM what Ronald Reagan did for Chrysler in the 1980s, only when Reagan did it, for twice as much money, the republicans called him an American Hero. Politics aside though, I still have a hard time believing that Republicans would have officially allowed GM to hit rock bottom, file for bankruptcy, lose 1 Million projected employees, halt production on auto. Talk about making us look weak in front of the world, which Republicans are so sassy about saying Obama does. I wonder how we would be viewed having allowed one of the largest top 5 American companies, Next from Wall-Mart Totally go under?? I wonder how Republicans imagine this would make us appear to be a strong nation, that we wont even save our Captial, Sure we can invest 1+ Trillion dollars to save Iraq from an evil dictator, but use 1 /1000th of that to save GM and 1 Million Employees? We cant do that LMFAO
Republicans would have saved GM if they won the 2008 Election, Bush Saved WallStreet, Why Cant Democrats save Auto?
Answer: It's pure election year hyperbole.
Of course Republicans would have bailed out the auto industries. They're not about to let about a 6th of the economy (the big automakers plus the numerous cottage industries that rely on them) go to hell. The only difference would be that contards would hail the president as a savior of Capitalism (but when a Democrat does it it's "communism")
Any contard who thinks otherwise is a naive idealistic idiot.

We had to go in there and end things. How about WW2? This makes my statement even more poignant. Imagine if we chose to leave that fiasco be. Europe would have been property of a very harsh German reich. In the Persian Gulf war we saved a country and communism was halted all thanks to our efforts. This difficult job of overseeing world relations wont end anytime soon. There are still bickering countries and unsteady alliances. I dont know when the next big one will happen but I would bet you anything that we will be in there to break it up.
Answer: No, but the U.S. is the one that goes into many matters that it shouldn't even be involved in, I don't think anybody's asking it to. The U.S. is known to help people and has a good reputation, so why are the citizens of it mad about it??
