What would it take to get Asian-Americans noticed in the music industry?
I think it would be so cool if J-Pop and K-Pop and Asian rock easily integrated into the mainstream of U.S. music on the radio and stuff. That would be so awesome. I think it would be interesting if that happened. It would be interesting if that happened. I wonder when the presence of Asian American singers/rappers in music will be as common as Asian American actors (Ming Na Wen, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Dante Basco, Chow Yun Fat, Keanu Reeves, Russell Wong, etc). I think maybe if there were more economic support they would rally around their difference culture communities (Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean) and use them to build audiences and maybe form their own music network TV channels like how there is Telemundo, MTV, and BET right now. Of course I havent forgotten about Cassie Ventura and Amerie (both beautiful singers) whom are Pinay-black and Korean-black respectively. I think it would be cool if their success touched off a domino effect of more singers being signed and heard on the radio. That would be awesome! I remember one rapper who was into the music industry for a while with style was Jin.
Answer: I don't even have to read all of that to answer this. Make remakes, covers and any song that is unoriginal and it'll fly off the shelves like pancakes soaked in maple syrup.
Seriously, music isn't good nowadays. I'm young but I can still see it. Nobody is original anymore.
I think Jackie Chan should do a remake of My Buttons and I think that'll be a platinum smash.

In China, an Internet joke is not always just a joke. Its a form of defiance -- and the government is not amused.
The cellphone vibrated softly, insistently, echoing off the whitewashed walls of the artists studio. little bit of everything OR everything about somethings?
Actually I was going to ask about immortality or expanded life; but I thought I dont believe in any of them. The problem starts from me believing in "If you want it done right, you have got to do it yourself." I think its over-over-scrupulosity and some kind of obsession with learning. Im 24 years old and till now I attempted to learn every thing. My primary language is Azeri. I know Turkish. I know Persian, I know English, I know Arabic, a little French and I am learning Chinese. I play piano (and sort of speculate about other styles and kinds). I do painting (pencil, watercolor, pastel). I do nastaaligh (some kind of Persian writing art). I like philosophy. I like literature and reading books. I like math and physics. Ive studied some law books. Im religious and I could answer peoples religious questions better than many. I like computers and scientific gadgets. I can program in FoxPro, c/c++, c#, php. Im master of Photoshop and flash. I know may networking (actually I work as network manager in a governmental institute).
I am not the best in every one of them but Im pretty good.
But recently I read an article about VM and thread-migrating from my cousin. It was very advanced and he is about my age (2 years older); and that raised some kind of envy in me.
What do you say? Should I detach some and concentrate on fewer subjects OR continue this way?
Answer: I think it depends very much on WHY you have learnt these things.
If it is for the joy of learning, and you enjoy the process, there is no problem in continuing to move to a new subject.
If it is to impress others (not many people would admit if this was the reason!), then it's probably not a great goal, as few people find a list of achievements will make them admire or warm to a person. It is far more likely to alienate.
To form a bond with a person through what you learn, it is far more successful to communicate with someone who has an interest in common, and discuss just that one thing. Otherwise there is the danger of being perceived as arrogant (even if you do not intend to be).
If you have a particular motivation to learn something - for example, to communicate in a particular language with a particular person / group of people, this will be its own reward.
If it is to achieve a career or new job, it's probably good to develop a deeper knowledge in one area - having researched that there is work available in the field.
Really, it depends on WHY you enjoy learning.

Why are republicans against Networking the Country with High speed rail?
the Chinese spent 300 Billion in 2011 in more Highspeed Rail for their country.. Meanwhile were livin with 1970 style rail. Obama wanted to make a relatively small investment in highspeed rail.. 12 Billion dollars to connect a few cities.. And republicans shot it down. Why?
Answer: Uh... Most of the Chinese don't have cars for one thing.
Most Americans wouldn't use it... Therefore, it's a waste of money.
That being said, there are a FEW places in the country where a high speed rail makes sense... but honey-combing the country with them... We've got better uses for our scarce dollars right now.

"...we received an application from one person named “AB” who wants to register some domains(myname.asia myname.eu myname.info myname.org)and internet brand(myname)..."
Also at their website you can see (c) 2000-2008, but their domain registered only 2 months ago.

If you can answer my questions, i will be eternally greatful to you.
Answer: Hihi! I'm Chinese too, and I'm gonna audition too!!!!!!!!!
1. They don't care what you put down, they're going to force you to sing too - but SNSD if half half.
2.Not really, but you shouldn;t wait later than 16.
3. I guess it'll get you somewhere, as many people there can breakdance.
4. They'd be happy about Japanese and English - not sure about Vietnamese.
5. Nope.
6. Yes, since you can participate in MV's I'm guessing you can at least go to comps. But if you don't come first, then maybe SM will train you even harder or even maybe replace you with the person in 1st place - but I don't think that'd happen.
7. All sorts. Just watch SuJu's dancing, they are pretty complex and they 'pop' too but the girls don't/
8. You're gonna have to. They teach you Chinese too - any other language like Thai or Tagalog they might find a bit useless to teach you.
9. Nope. They give you rougly 20 dollars a week.
10. Nooooo, they pay for you! :)
11. No, but you won't have time for it - you might not even have time to sleep.
I might see you at the auditions! :)

He put his hands on her shoulders, looked deeply into her eyes, and said, "Anything?"
"Oh yes," she said, nodding eagerly. "Anything!"

Do you support a Federal law that gives Obama a "kill switch" to shut down the Internet?
"Similar legislation aimed at imposing (communist) Chinese-style censorship of the Internet and giving the state the power to shut down networks has already been passed globally, including in the (socialist) UK, New Zealand and Australia."
http://www.prisonplanet.com/new-bill-gives-obama-kill-switch-to-shut-down-the-internet.html
This seems to be yet one more socialist/communist democratic party bill. "The (Liebermans) bill has the vehement support of Senator Jay Rockefeller" (D-WV)
Communist China style censorship via the democratic party.
Also, why do democrats blindly support and justify what their party is or is NOT doing with the catch all bash Bush excuse?. Does anyone else pick up on the democrats main source of supporting Obama is by Bush bashing? Obama finally sees the BP president after nearly TWO months of oil puking into the Gulf. Obama still has not waived the Jones Act, that Bush did only 4 days after Katrina. MANY super hi tech foreign vessels with able crews are forbidden to come and save our coastal marshes because of Obama.... HE is the one that has not waived the Jones Act in nearly TWO months, NOT Bush. It seems that Bush has proven more responsible then Obama.
Do you feel comfortable with Obamas finger on the internets kill switch? It seems what ever assurances he SPEAKS, usually isnt true. It would also seem that what ever assurances Obama may give with the kill switch, those assurances will not be true either.
What is your opinion?
.
Answer: No sir I believe such a law violates my right to free speech. It is very unconstitutional only a progressive with intent on a one world socialist government would dare support such a treasonous and treacherous act in my opinion

Why US cable networks doesnt offer FTV in its service package?
Its nice sometimes to tune into Fashion TV and get latest trends or inspiring ideas from 24 hour runway and fashion industry television. FTV programs are not as banal as those shows you find on Bravo, Style networks with over-opinionated people with conservative and limited taste. It seems all around the globe except US carry this channel in cable package, though protection of its local market could be one of the reasons. Speaking of, Ive never seen a foreign film showing on television here, whereas its quite natural to bump into french, italian, german, chinese films while playing around with remote control in any other country, but never the US.
Answer: It's probably because not many people on this side of the pond have heard of it.
It sounds great, I would watch it.

U.S. Criticizes China Over Missile Test
By KATHERINE SHRADER, Associated Press Writer
2 hours ago
WASHINGTON - The United States criticized China on Thursday for conducting an anti-satellite weapons test in which an old Chinese weather satellite was destroyed by a missile.
The Bush administration has kept a lid on the test for more than a week as it weighs its significance. Analysts said Chinas weather satellites would travel at about the same altitude as U.S. spy satellites, so the test represented an indirect threat to U.S. defense systems.
"The United States believes Chinas development and testing of such weapons is inconsistent with the spirit of cooperation that both countries aspire to in the civil space area," National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said. "We and other countries have expressed our concern to the Chinese."
In his annual threat address to Congress, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Lt. Gen. Michael Maples, said last week that China and Russia are the "primary states of concern" regarding military space programs.
"Several countries continue to develop capabilities that have the potential to threaten U.S. space assets, and some have already deployed systems with inherent anti-satellite capabilities, such as satellite-tracking laser range-finding devices and nuclear-armed ballistic missiles," he said in his written testimony on Jan. 11, the same day Chinas test was conducted.
The test, first reported by Aviation Week, destroyed the satellite by hitting it with a kinetic kill vehicle launched aboard a ballistic missile.
In October, President Bush signed an order asserting the United States right to deny adversaries access to space for hostile purposes. As part of the first revision of U.S. space policy in nearly 10 years, the policy also said the United States would oppose the development of treaties or other restrictions that seek to prohibit or limit U.S. access to or use of space.
"Freedom of action in space is as important to the United States as air power and sea power," the policy said. "In order to increase knowledge, discovery, economic prosperity and to enhance the national security, the United States must have robust, effective and efficient space capabilities."
Precisely what drove China to act now remains a mystery. But the United States has to figure out how to respond, said John Pike, a satellite expert at globalsecurity.org.
Since the mid-1980s, the United States has had the ability to take down satellites, but the Chinese dont have satellites worth attacking, Pike said. The United States may have to develop alternatives to its current spy satellites _ perhaps stealthy satellites or unmanned aerial vehicles, which are harder to detect than the current well-established U.S. satellite network.
Reconnaissance satellites in low-Earth orbit _ "eyes in the sky" _ are essential to how the United States fights wars.
"Our space assets are the first asset on the scene," Pike said. "They are absolutely central to why we are a superpower _ a signature component to Americas style of warfare."
The Defense Department declined to comment on the test.
Adm. William Fallon, the chief of U.S. Pacific Command, has spearheaded a major push to revive exchanges with the Chinese military. Ties soured after a U.S. spy plane collided with a Chinese fighter plane in 2001.
Fallon has pushed ahead with the program, despite criticism inside the Pentagon. He believes that Chinese and U.S. officers need to understand each another better to avoid disastrous miscalculations.
Bush nominated Fallon this month to take over command of troops in the Middle East.

AP White House Correspondent Terence Hunt contributed to this report.
Answer: It's been a lot worse Laura, a lot worse. You did not have the "pleasure" of growing up in the Cold War Era. The possibility of a world wide nuclear holcaust was very real then. So far as satellite killers go, the USSR has had them for years. Even though there is no USSR as we knew it then , those technologies still exist.
I believe that the best thing for America to do is to just have the bigger club than anyone else has.
So far as the Middle East is concerned, developing alternative fuels would be a major sword in their sides. If we have no need of their oil, then their hold over us, or anyone else will be less effective. No, while this may look bad, it has been worse, a lot worse.

My life is very different from American Teens (Im a Chinese Generation that came here)?
I know American teens live social lives with rap music, xbox 360s and ps3s, skateboards, parties on weekdays, hating to read books, and going to the mall every weekend with friends right. Well my mom and dad lived in China last generation and both came here this one. Im 13 years old, my two brothers are 10 year old twins. On a regular weekday, I wake up and go to breakfast than school, all by myself while parents are at work. My brothers are already at school. At school Im just random, play with friends, study and random stuff. After I get home however, I do other things. First I do my homework, which is very easy for me since Im very good at schoolwork. Than after Im done I watch some random TV of like Pokemon, Star Wars the Clone wars, or maybe ABC or Food network. After getting home at 4:00, I do this until 5:00. At 5:00 I get on the computer and play around typical teenager stuff (myspace with my school friends too) until 6:00. Than I eat my dinner and at 6:30 I watch World News with my whole family (parents and brothers). From 7:00 to 10:00, I just do random stuff(read fantasy books, video games, maybe movies.) Than on weekends I eat breakfast, do homework if there is, watch TV for 1 hour, and play on computer or video games for 2 hours. After that I go to a party with friends if there is one(every 3 weeks). Its always a big party. After that I just come home and relax with random stuff of what I already listed. I play chess too. And finally every Monday Wednesday and Thursday, I swim for 1 hour at a swim group. On other days I play go outside on walks with family and sometimes lift free weights. When my family gets bored, we go outside together to eat or the mall or shop. I am usually happy most of the time, but I am always worried about one thing. My social life isnt very well. I know or heard that most American teens shop with friends, go to the mall together, and play sports together. My parents both told me everyone has a different style of life. Can you please help me lose my fear of lack of social life?
I do play with friends but only at parties, and at parties, we just play video games.
Well it is true that we never play with trouble.
Answer: You seem to be social enough, and you're not really missing much. You're far better off concentrating on your studies and maintaining you family relationships than some of the things other kids your age are up to. You'll develop more friendships as time goes on.
People on here asking drug questions and all the "sexting" I hear about is pretty scary. You're really not missing anything.
