Should Y/A politics section be renamed, "The People VS the Devils Advocates"?
Answer: It does seem that most info. against this govt. on Y!A politics are based on the facts, and defenders of this govt. are clutching at straws; using pretzel logic to justify this govts. actions.
On the flip side, much of the rhetoric against the Dems is libelous, irrelevant, and desperate acts of seeding misinformation.
Sometimes I ask myself, "Do they truly believe in the nonsense that comes out of their mouths?"

Does politics all boil down to Good Vs. Evil?
Democrats Vs Republicans
Freedom Vs Dictatorship
Americans Vs Saudi Oil Interests
People Vs Corporations
Balanced budgets Vs Huge Debt (Republicans lie that they are fiscally responsible)
Winning Wars Vs Endless quagmire for corporate profits
Truth Vs Lies
Democracy Vs Dictatorship
Sharing Vs Theft
God Vs Satan
And dont give me any of the abortion lies, Reps scream about abortion and then deliberately murder 100x more people in wars based on lies, deliberately push for more poverty which starves people they dont like and deliberately create economic collapse so people suffer all across the country and the world. What Republicans practice as policy is 100X worse than abortion and they are filthy liars trying to redirect attention away from what they are doing as policy.
Calling yourself a "Christian" does not make you into a Christian. Deeds make you a Christian, not words and the deeds of Republicans are all based on greed which is Satans blood. Greedy Republicans have Satans blood inside them no matter what label they call themselves.
Answer: Well it is all about morality. After all isn't morality about how we should or shouldn't treat each other. And isn't government the the tool we use to implement that treatment.
I think that's why the founders of this country insisted on limited government. The less power the government has the less we all have to be concerned about what hand wields that limited power. This lack of concern means that we could be guaranteed of a peaceful transition of power between leaders.
On the other hand if government power is unlimited then he who wields that unlimited power is of great concern. And peaceful transitions far less likely.

The Peoples Cube - Political Humor & Satire
The Peoples Cube brings you glorious political humor satire and correct oppinions for progressive liberals from the original Party Organ of Record
Would you say that more people are disillusioned by the two main parties, or more credulous in politics?
More credulous to believe in their parties talking points, or ideological base that is. What do you think?
If you believe more people are disillusioned by this false sense of separatism, why do we seem more divided than ever?
If you believe the current system is good, what do you believe the left vs right debate is solving in this country?
Answer: In the USA, elections are not won, they are lost.
Most people do not vote for a candiate, they vote against the other one.
I think the founders knew this, and they devised our system of government knowing that its only merit was that it would prevent tyranny by preventing anybody from gaining enough power to become a tyrant. It was designed more to limit power than to direct power to the best candidate.
We need to keep both political parties in our government, only to prevent either party from gaining single party rule.
We had that for 12 months during the first year of Obama's presidency, and look how that turned out.

People mostly tolerate jokes mocking politics.
People mostly tolerate jokes mocking cultures.
People mostly tolerate jokes mocking men vs. women.
When it comes for religious jokes it makes people go crazy. Why so sensitive about your religion over your culture?
Answer: This is the point that Sam Harris brought up in his book "The End of Faith".
You can pretty much question and mock just about anything with little regard, but faith and religious beliefs are still the sacred cow's that cannot be touched without consequences.

OP-ED COLUMNIST; The Fighter Fallacy
The elemental question in American politics is: Do voters trust their government? During the middle of the 20th century, more than 70 percent of Americans said that they trusted government to do the right thing most of the time. During the 1970s, that fell. By the Iraq war, only 25 percent trusted government. Is politics a game of the uninformed dummies vs the informed intellectuals?
Leaving out the label of repub, dem, or independent. It seems that politics becomes a game of uninformed dummy idealist vs the informed moderate intellectuals. I could be wrong but I always notice uninformed people name call and evoke ideals, while intellectuals evoke due process and try to explain the faults in the other persons thinking process.
Provide your insight to what you think about how political people duke it out.
Answer: politics is a game of lies. if you are informed and moderate, you will be booted out. most politicians deal with false information, and turn the blind eye, even if they know something is not true. the ones who try to call it like they see it are ridiculed and booted. not to say ron paul is completely truthful, but he is more informed than some of the others, and look where that got him.

Global Warming how do people rely on it?
religion vs. science vs. politics
whats your opinion? how do you think people relied on the decision makings?
Answer: The left-wing political movement and their associated left-wing "scientists" created global warming and stand to make fortunes from the scam.
NASA GISS, the IPCC and others have, through junk science, promoted global warming for financial gains provided by the unscrupulous politicians involved. Money comes in from donations, certain taxes, and carbon credit sales. The European Union has so far spent tens of billions of US dollars to 'fix' global warming, but the money has gone mostly into the Chinese economy and is used for other things. The rest disappears into the g/w empire's coffers.
As long as the scam continues and people keep paying, junk scientists and corrupt liberal politicians will rely on it to profit.

- in general - (opening post)
- the people - (opening post)
Answer: it is a good question --- to bad there is no answer --
There is no answer because no one collects any data on topics like this . Chiefly there would be an argument over the definition of "good" and lawyers would obscure the meaning and complicate the matter until most people went away
The good of the people would be challenged next . What people ? Which ones? The lower class the rich the middle the whites the blacks the immigrant etc etc
There is a common purpose to all this challenging of a definition.
They don't want you to ask the simple and well intentioned question you have. So they will fight you in an asymmetric manner . By nit picking your words until your definitions become so narrow that the question itself is made irrelevant and open to manipulation
If the question persists any data collected will be so biased that the outcome will be known before the questionnaire gets out of the box
Why would all these forces come out of the wood work united in a common purpose of defeating the question ?
The answer would demand that changes occur ---------- Changes that would not suit some of our richest and most important members of society (so much for a just society or an egalitarian society )
The majority of laws suit the law makers and not the people
The majority of laws and rules suit industry and not the worker or the common person aka the masses
The majority of the rules of advertising suit the advertiser The legal systems suit the power brokers and the political system highly favors one class above all others
Now do you see why you are not allowed to ask the question ?
The common purpose of uniting to defeat you before it is asked
Oh and which people and who are you to tell me what is and is not good
Define good --- and tell me which population you are talking about .....After all those are the rules of the game ..... define that please
And who does that suit best ? People who prefer you did not ask such question which might imply that later down the road people might demand change ---
There is no such data available to answer your question sir
But it is an excellent question

Democratic vs Republican and they both vs. The People Of America?
Do you feel democratic, republican, or independent that our opions do not count. That they tell us what they think we want to hear. That the smear tatics have gone to far. I feel that the reason we are where we are in this country politicallly is so to speak the changing of the guard, The old guard and beliefs are moving out and a new guard moving in. This is what I see and hear ( which I will admit it not the best barometer) people who appear over 65 or a little older do not seem to understand this war is not like ANY OTHER war we have fought, the age group that appears between about 40 to 55 understand it a new type of war whether they agree with it or not. Then you hear the younger generation who seem to be split down the middle about this war. In each of the groups that I have listened or participated in the conversation it always reverts to The Iraq war and its politics and that brings on comments about the parties.I want a real people president not a politican. What do you want
Answer: Actaully, the Iraq war is very much like the Vietnam war.
There are a lot of alarming similarities. The older patrons see this, at least at some level.
The issue is simple.
If you want to change the nature of politics in the USA, change the type of people you vote in to office.
There are a lot of people who run on the independant ticket that could probably do a very good job. The problem, as I see it, is that people are prone to become emersed in the competitiveness of the "side" that they chose. They tend to become hard core Republicans or hard core Democrats, whether they really understand the candidate's politics or not. Why? Because it becomes an "use vs. them" to some people, rather than selecting a candidate with whom align with their own viewpoints.
At one time, the Republicans were pretty much in the back pockets of the wealthy, and Democrats were bleeding hearts that wanted to tax the middle class heavily to pay for social programs. Now, both parties seem to be in the pockets of large corporations and the wealthy, and taxes are levied high against the middle class to go to both social programs and to give "incentives" to already highly profitable big businesses.
If America wants a change in politics, the true power in America needs to stand up, and elect politicians that stand up for them. "They" are the middle class, who is 75% of the population, who can out vote any other group, who need to stop being taken in by the current political system.
